Sibelius Groovy Shapes - Multiseat Licence, Music Software for 5 to 7 year olds
Multiseat Licences available at a minimum of 5 seats
In Groovy Shapes children learn about basic music concepts. The
Explore section guides them aurally through a series of progressive
exercises which teach them how music works. They can then put into
practice what they’ve learned by creating their own music in the Create
section.
Shapes are used to represent elements of music such as rhythms,
melodies and chords. As your chosen character walks across the screen,
the shapes play their sounds. A library of preset sounds is included,
which children can simply drag onto the screen to build up their musical
creation. Then they can play back their piece, edit it, or even see the
elements displayed as music notation.
The progressive exercises mean Groovy Shapes can be used immediately
by a non-specialist teacher, and because instructions are given aurally,
no reading is required.

About Groovy Music
Sibelius Groovy Music is a series of three programs, Groovy Shapes,
Groovy Jungle and Groovy City, which make teaching music to primary
children easy and fun.
Supporting the non-specialist teacher in particular, it comes with
plenty of clear and well-written supporting materials – and you don’t
need to be a musician to use it.
Children will love Sibelius Groovy Music. It lets them create their
own music as well as carry out directed activities, so there’s plenty of
room for them to experiment. In fact, Groovy Music is so compelling
that once children start making music, they just won’t want to stop!
And best of all, it’s incredibly easy to use, so you won’t waste time on setting it up and learning how it works.
Each of the three Groovy Music programs is designed to be used by a
different age group, with more complex musical ideas being explored as
children progress through the series. Each program has its own ‘theme’,
with exciting and engaging graphics to appeal to the age group for which
it’s designed.
The three Groovy Music programs can be used on a single computer, a
network or an interactive whiteboard for whole class teaching.
